Choosing the correct number of tiles for your interior project can be a bit daunting: too many and you’ve wasted budget, too few and you can leave your project in the balance as you dash to purchase more. To give you a helping hand and ensure you buy the correct tile quantities for your project, we’ve put together a handy guide.
Tile Quantities
Working Out Tile Quantities
First things first, measure the walls or floors to be tiled and calculate the area in square metres. Then, work out the number of tiles per square metre and multiply this by the area to be covered.
Tile Quantities Guide
Both wall and floor tiles are produced in batches, and it is important to make sure you have enough tiles from the same batch for your project. We would recommend ordering slightly more tiles than you need. Any extras can be stored for future repairs.
We have put a rough guide of how many tiles you will need per square metre below. However, please note that exact tile sizes can vary from manufacturer to manufacturer and some can include the joint width in their calculation of tiles/metre. Therefore, the below table must only be used as a guide and is not a definitive statement of fact.
